Before the audience members enjoyed "Amani," they got a chance to see the latest work by Smyrna filmmaker G. Lloyd Morris, titled "20 Minutes." The film is about a young black man, fresh out of prison, who phones his older brother in search of a fresh start. His wish is granted, but only if he can get to the house in 20 minutes and avoid the temptations of street life that put him behind bars in the first place. Filmed in black and white, "20 Minutes" combines the beat-the-clock plot device of "Run Lola Run" with blunt, over-the-top characterizations and dialogue characteristic of HBO's "The Wire." Mr. Morris and his crew shot "20 Minutes" over three days in downtown Wilmington. He is a playwright and graduate student at Temple University.
